for some of us, october brings that blast of heat. for others, it’s apple picking with a fleece (or two) on. for others… it’s “what’s a season?” and for everyone: “what ever am I/the kids/the dog/the cat (don’t you dare) going to wear for halloween?” wherever you are, here’s what we think will serve as distraction and inspiration. it’s a bumper crop…
of course, we had to start with fashion week. just a little more left (and then we’ll give you our top picks — because we do live for this, you know.)
get arty: wherever you are in the world (well almost) October has something for you.
Bay Area: the venerable Artwalk SF and you know the weather will be perfect.
London: oh an embarrassment of riches. Rebel: 30 years of london fashion at the London Design Museum. all your favorites (molly, grace, simone and of course, alexander) plus Bjork’s swan dress. at the other end of the spectrum, there’s gabrielle, the Chanel retrospective at the Victoria and Albert (we’re thinking the catalogue would be a nice addition to your coffee table); then there’s Frieze London; Decorex
New York: frenemies (aka Manet / Degas)
New York (north): go for a beautiful walk — puryear at storm king; or fancy a little scarpa? you know we do. explore some goodness here.
Paris: c’est le ne plus ultra Art Basel Paris!

Venice: yes please, venice design week
Shop: get offline and into a store (better yet, in Paris). l’objet of my affections. pick up a little something for us? don’t worry about choosing, we want it all.
