here at clé, we have become known for our tile collaborations with artists and designers, however, it is our long-term aim to broaden everyone's concept of tile and to transform it from being a functional backdrop to a more artful, provocative facet of our surroundings. to that end, we have sought out heirloom quality tiles from across the globe. our tile offerings now extend from classic moroccan zellige, glazed raku-fired tiles from vietnam, rustic italian terracotta and carrara stone to thin-clay bricks domestically sourced.
our new studio is located in san rafael, california, and we are always looking for enthusiastic people to join our rapidly growing company. please note that all of our current positions are full-time and are based on location at our headquarters in san rafael.

key responsibilities

      • managing and executing in-person appointments at the studio with members of the clé trade program, including appointment preparedness (knowledge of client needs and goals, project specifics, possible products to present). demonstrate complete familiarity with the clé product line, in order to provide design services and recommendations to clients as needed.  
      • meeting and exceeding monthly sales goals while representing the cle tile brand. establishing and nurturing long term relationships with trade & VIP clients. 
      • mastery of internal customer relationship management tools (sales crm, ecommerce platform, inventory management system). interface with other departments: supply chain, samples, showroom/studio manager, product development and backend customer support to continuously strengthen and improve sales processes, providing customer feedback to other departments where appropriate.

as a key supporting role for our very busy sales team, the ideal candidate is highly organized with superb attention to detail, demonstrates effective communication and strong project management skills. the ideal candidate is energetic, responsible and willing to continuously learn while working in a fast-paced environment. we are seeking someone who is enthusiastic about having daily interactions with our clients and helping them purchase materials for the project of their dreams. you will be able to work independently, but also be a part of a bigger team providing a key supporting role to our sales representatives, helping to continuously ensure positive sales growth. this position will have a direct impact on customer satisfaction and company result

first line of contact for our clients (pre-purchase) answering questions regarding all aspects of their project and pre-qualifying for sales team. manage all customer interactions via chat, email, phone, and internal ticketing system (answer, follow-up where needed, and always resolve). processing sample requests for sales team clients. providing pricing quotes for the sales team clients. mastery of our internal customer relationship management tools

    the ideal candidate is energetic, responsible and willing to continuously learn, improving processes while working in a fast-paced environment. we are seeking someone who is enthusiastic about warehousing activities, transportation (international & domestic) and purchasing. you will be able to implement new process and measure your results, and you will lead logistic projects. when it comes to transportation and purchasing, you will handle contact with overseas vendors and understand the import process. you will have a direct impact on customer satisfaction and company results.

    key responsibilities

    warehouse project management. negotiation with logistic vendors. work with 3rd party suppliers, and other external partners. evaluate suppliers capacity planning and anticipate impacts. sales order processing. inventory management and optimization (availability, data quality, inventory turns...). create forecasts, understand customer demand and timeline requirements. process purchase orders and rigorous follow up

      clé is looking for an energetic, smart, and ambitious executive assistant/editorial associate.  in addition to providing general administrative support for the leadership team on a day-to-day basis, this role will provide editorial + content support to the marketing team. 

      this is a phenomenal opportunity for someone looking to learn the workings of a design-oriented web-based business as well to as develop their editorial skills.

      candidates must have extraordinary organizational skills as well as interest in design and content management.


          • providing administrative and project support to the leadership team, including, but not limited to: preparing presentation materials, coordinating meetings, acting as liaison between departments, budget tracking, vendor outreach, internal communication, coordinating travel, scheduling, etc.
          • providing support to the marketing and content teams, including, but not limited to: content library management, asset tagging, scheduling of social media, sourcing new content,  creating original content as needed, etc.

        clé is looking for a creative, smart, and ambitious junior graphic designer. this role is part of the product development and the creative team and performs tasks in support of the entire company.

        a link to your portfolio is strongly preferred.


            • creation of web material: banners, facebook ads, and other advertising collateral.
            • support the marketing team in providing final images for marketing/press purposes.
            • retouching and color correcting digital assets
            • design support for physical materials (tearsheets, approval forms, postcards, print collateral).
            • provide integral support in the archiving and maintenance of outhe clé media library


            • superior skills in design and photo-editing.
            • experience working with web-compliant standards for different digital platforms
            • ability to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality 
            • ability to physically mockup design comps 
            • strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail 
            • a passion for interior design, texture, raw material and products.
            • highly motivated, creative thinker, team player with a twist of innovation.
            • able to take direction and work independently with minimal supervision
            • can be scrappy, creative and resourceful while also building structure and process.

        education and experience

            • BA in graphic design or a related field strongly preferred
            • 1-3+ years of graphic design work experience 
            • proficiency in adobe creative suite 
            • knowledge of prepress and print-ready materials/collateral is a plus
            • working knowledge of equipment including printers, scanners, dslr cameras is preferred.
            • must be proficient in using the latest mac os and g-suite
