here at clé, we have become known for our tile collaborations with artists and designers, however, it is our long-term aim to broaden everyone's concept of tile and to transform it from being a functional backdrop to a more artful, provocative facet of our surroundings. to that end, we have sought out heirloom quality tiles from across the globe. our tile offerings now extend from classic moroccan zellige, glazed wood-fired tiles from vietnam, rustic italian terracotta and carrara stone to thin-clay bricks domestically sourced.
our new studio is located in san rafael, california, and we are always looking for enthusiastic people to join our rapidly growing company. please note that all of our current positions are full-time and are based on location at our headquarters in san rafael.

PRODUCT DEVELOPER

description

key role developing, launching, and maintaining our tile collections.


key responsibilities

  • research and source new products and vendors
  • with the assistance of supply chain and the finance department, compile market research, analyze and negotiate new product pricing, logistics, and packaging to determine viability
  • order samples and coordinate revisions with vendor as needed, track progress
  • review, document and calculate new product information including pricing, dimensions, usage information, test results, sds, and ingredients lists
  • work with supply chain to forecast inventory, create stock and sampling plans
  • create and oversee quality control process SOPs with vendor as well as clé warehouse, QC inventory hands on as needed, track issues
  • facilitate the creation of product installation test boards and oversee the submission of boards/products to industry tests
  • create and maintain installation and maintenance guides as well as product FAQ
  • oversee and maintain the organization of materials library and digital assets including product imagery, test reports, sds sheets, and ingredient lists
  • oversee and facilitate the photography of new and existing products
  • oversee, submit, and track the progress of trademark and copyright application submissions
  • work with marketing and creative teams to create product and collection naming and assets for launches
  • coordinate product listing and collection page creation, as well as updates needed for continual improvement with e-commerce team
  • formulate product explanations, usage, ratings and disclaimers for the website
  • create and facilitate company presentations related to product launches
  • own product line post launch; facilitate changes to product and representation as needed over time to resolve issues and increase sales
  • maintain vendor relationships, communicate capacity needs, and review pricing on an on-going basis

qualifications and skills

  • bachelor degree or equivalent work experience in product development
  • must be proficient with using excel and google suite; particularly gmail, google calendar, drive, google sheets and docs
  • experience working on the backend of a website a plus
  • must be highly organized with strong time management and communications skills
  • strong interest in interiors, materials, and production processes
  • able to bring both a creative and analytical approach to the work
  • positive attitude, willingness to take on any task, and desire to grow within the product development team
  • must be willing and able to lift up to 25 lbs 
  • must be located in the bay area; currently requires a few days in studio each week

TRADEMARK ANALYST, PART-TIME

CLIENT SERVICE REP | BACKEND SUPPORT TEAM (post purchase)

description

key supporting role for our very busy support team. this role has a direct impact on customer satisfaction and company results.

key responsibilities

  • first line of contact for our clients (post-purchase) answering questions regarding all aspects of their purchases such as installation tips, order status updates, proactively tracking delayed orders, troubleshooting damaged delivery, corresponding with our 3rd party shipping company, filing claims, and any other customer support relating to the post-purchase experience.
  • maintain a clear understanding of clé’s policies on cancellations, damage, refunds, escalation processes.
  • manage all customer interactions via chat, email, phone, and internal ticketing system (answer, follow-up, escalate when needed, and always resolve) in a timely manner.
  • communicating and working hand in hand across multiple departments including sales, product development, and supply chain to help resolve customer related issues in a timely fashion.
  • mastery of our internal customer relationship management tools (hubspot and shopify.)
  • mastery of CIN7 inventory system, slack for internal company communications, and other google suite applications required for daily tasks i.e. email, googledocs, and calendar.
  • contributing role to backend CSR new employee training as designated by Director of Sales and backend CSR supervisor.
  • supervised by backend support team lead & reports to director of sales.

      SALES TEAM | SALES REPRESENTATIVE: SHOWROOM (hiring currently paused)

      description

      the ideal candidate is design-savvy with a proven track record of exceeding sales goals while consistently providing world-class customer service to prospective clients.

      key responsibilities

      • meeting and exceeding monthly sales goals while representing the cle tile brand. establishing and nurturing long term relationships with trade & VIP clients
      • mastery of internal customer relationship management tools (sales crm, ecommerce platform, inventory management system). interface with other departments: supply chain, samples, showroom/studio manager, product development and backend customer support to continuously strengthen and improve sales processes, providing customer feedback to other departments where appropriate

      qualifications

      • exceptional interpersonal skills; able to positively interact with many different types of clients in-person
      • experience working with interior designers and projects of all sizes
      • design-focused with strong awareness of our product and current trends in home design
      • strong project and time management skills
      • the ability to nurture multiple projects from specification to close
      • the flexibility to work independently but also collaboratively when needed
      • willingness to ask for help and share your knowledge
      • strong analytical skills and attention to detail
